Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently accepting self pay clients as well as American Behavioral EAP, Humana, BayCare and Cigna insurances. I am also able to provide "out of network" receipts to provide to your insurance company for reimbursement.
What are my qualifications?
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida (my license number is 12671) and that requires a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology as well as two years of clinical supervision provided by a licensed clinician after graduation. I am also certified in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) which are both evidence based practices. I also have 8 years of school counseling experience in utilizing solution focused counseling and behavioral interventions using play. I completed my Master's degree in Counseling from Saint Leo University. I also received a Bachelor's degree from The University of South Florida in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. I have been licensed for five years and can now supervise Registered Interns to become LMHCs.
How long does counseling last?
Everyone has a different counseling experience. I would suggest starting with once a week sessions and we can re-evaluate if you need more or less sessions based on your progress.
